Are you a student looking for something meaningful and rewarding to do during your Transition Year? Or maybe you’re a parent looking for Transition Year options for your son or daughter. Well, Stein Study offers some fantastic study abroad programmes for a Transition Year abroad including short term and long term courses for learning French in FranceSpanish in Spain or German in Germany. Here are some of the benefits of attending a foreign language study abroad programme during Transition Year:

  • Improve your language skills
  • Experience a new way of life and thinking
  • Immerse yourself in a new culture
  • Gain a head start for your Leaving Cert
  • Something interesting to put on your CV
  • Learn to be independent
  • Meet new friends from around the world

So what are the study abroad options? You can either attend a short term course for 6 to 10 weeks or you can choose a longer term course for 6 weeks to a full academic year. Short term Transition Year abroad programmes include our LEAVING CERT PREP COURSE and our TRANSITION YEAR INTENSIVE COURSE. For a long term option we offer the popular SECONDARY SCHOOL ABROAD PROGRAMME.

The main reason for attending a study abroad foreign language programme is of course to improve foreign language skills ahead of the Leaving Certificate. Student Anna recently returned from Rouen, France where she spent two weeks on the Leaving Cert Prep Course. Here’s the wonderful feedback we received from Anna’s Mother about the improvement in her French and her experience on the course :

“Anna had a wonderful time in Rouen. Her host family were perfect and she really enjoyed her stay with them. The college staff were very helpful and made is very easy for her to settle in. Her level of French has improved a lot and she is still in touch with some of the people she met on the trip. She found the Leaving Cert French classes in the afternoon particularly beneficial”

Stein Study has carefully chosen it’s destinations with student’s in mind. Beach destinations in the sun such as Cadiz and San Sebastian, Spain and La Rochelle in France. Quiet rural towns – Lindenberg in Germany and Loches, France. And culture-rich cosmopolitan cities including Seville, Spain and Rouen, France.
