The launch of our new TY French and rugby course in La Rochelle last year was a resounding success and we have received some great feedback from our rugby playing students. We are, therefore, pleased to announce that we are running the course again this year and are already taking bookings for students wanting to learn French and play rugby in April or May 2020.
The Course
The TY French and Rugby course in La Rochelle is a one of a kind course offered by the inLingua language school. Students study French in the mornings and attend rugby workshops and training sessions in the afternoons. The rugby workshops take place at the language school and see students using their new and improved language skills to talk about rugby. Teaching a language using a topic of personal interest to a student is a great way to motivate learning and students enjoy talking about their rugby passion to each other, learning new vocab along the way.
The rugby training sessions are hosted by a local La Rochelle rugby team. Students will join the team in their weekly training sessions and will benefit from training with this experienced team and their enthusiastic coach.
The course concludes with students attending a pre-match session with the top 14 French rugby team – La Rochelle Atlantique Stade Rochelais. Students take notes and observe training techniques and even get the task of preparing a warm-up session for their fellow students.
The course dates are scheduled to coincide with the match fixtures of the La Rochelle team so that students can opt to purchase tickets to watch the actual match that they attending the pre-match training session for. The match date is 9th May 2020.

- La Rochelle is a fantastic French town for teenagers with plenty to do and see. As well as being a rugby town, the town also boasts a beach to enjoy, a vibrant town centre and lots of green spaces.

- Accommodation: Students stay in Home Stay Accommodation with carefully selected host families. Help and support is provided at all times during their stay.
