Are you looking to study abroad to improve your French language skills ahead of your LC? Choosing to study at the InLingua French language school in La Rochelle is certainly a sound choice!
La Rochelle is a magnificent port town on the west coast of France with plenty to see and do for teenagers. With innovative public transport and lots of green spaces as well as beaches, it is an ideal location for Irish teenagers who want to study abroad and enjoy other activities such as sports and water sports. Why not learn to surf whilst you’re there or take yachting lessons? And for those who aren’t so sporty, there are plenty of interesting museums and excursions on offer. The course is offered through a high-quality language school – inLingua, which is ideally located just moments away from the sea and town centre.
Students stay in Home Stay Accommodation. Support and guidance is provided to students throughout their stay and they will benefit from a busy programme that includes 3 afternoon activities (including sailing) and 2 evening activities a week, and a full day excursion at the weekend.
This course provides the perfect opportunity for students to improve their French language skills ahead of their LC, whilst also enjoying a host of fun activities in a beautiful and vibrant French town.

Students stay in local Home Stay accommodation with people who are vetted and chosen by the language school, InLingua La Rochelle. Students will have their own room or can share with a friend. The accommodation chosen by inLingua is of a much higher standard than most other locations. As La Rochelle is not a haven for language tourists, Home Stay Hosts are taking students for the right reasons. We realise that Home Stay Accommodation is not for everyone. If you select this type of accommodation, you will need to be open-minded and understand that you may not benefit from all your usual creature comforts. You have to be willing to practice your French no matter how bad you may think it is! You will have breakfast and dinner with your family as well as lunch on the weekends.
Curfew:
Parents can create the curfew for students however the maximum curfew the school allow is the following – 12pm (midnight) Sunday – Thursday 1am Friday and Saturday. Please note that if a parent would like to adjust their child’s curfew they must allow a 24 hour changing period.

The language school is located close to the town centre and all host's are within easy cycling distance or bus ride to town and school. You will be provided with a bus pass for the duration of your stay. The school can also help students rent bikes for the duration of their stay.
Parents can create a curfew for students however the maximum curfew the school allows is 12 pm (midnight) Sunday - Thursday and 1am Friday and Saturday. Please note that if a parent would like to adjust their child's curfew they must allow a 24 hour changing period.
You can opt to take the course for a minimum of 2 weeks up to 10 weeks
No flights are not included in the price.You will need to arrange your own flights, although we are happy to advise. The closest airport is La Rochelle
Students can opt to share a host family with a friend or can be placed with another student if they have travelled alone. Staying with a student who you didn’t know before your trip is a great way to widen your circle of friends while getting the chance to practice your language skills with new people. The school will accommodate all requests as best they can.
All meals are included in the price. You will however need money for socialising and shopping during your time away.
Transfer between La Rochelle airport and your accommodation is provided on arrival and departure

The whole experience was extremely positive. Stein study literally organised everything! The French school and staff were particularly approachable and helpful.
There were a lot of activities to get involved in and the French classes were very helpful.
It was extremely good. The tours and activities were well organised, and they were very interesting. All the staff were excellent, very understanding easy to talk too and friendly. My host family were so great. They were always understanding and eager to help me improve my French. The experience over all was incredible and I notice an improvement in my French. I loved my time in La Rochelle so much that I came back for a second trip during the summer and stayed with the same host family again. Stein Study done an amazing job organising this trip for me. I was nervous arriving here by myself, but I found that after just one day, I was reassured that I would be just fine with all the help from the staff and my host. I really enjoyed the extracurricular activities and found that they greatly improved my spoken French. Whilst there was a bit of learning throughout the class if I was ever stuck or confused, the teachers took their time in explaining it to me, which was greatly appreciated, I toughly enjoyed my time here in La Rochelle and hope to be back soon.
I really enjoyed staying in La Rochelle. I think that I learned a lot if French and I really enjoyed that classes. I loved the activities and I think they really enhanced my experience. All of the teachers were lovely. My host was very nice. She had a lovely house and gave us enough independence. The only aspect that I didn’t enjoy was the food, but I never really liked French food anyways and I had to enhance myself in the culture.
The classes in the morning were great each one was fully prepared. A planned out which helped a lot. At the start I found it hard to learn French through speaking it but got better throughout. The exam prep classes served to last for a lot longer than they did but were effective. I would prefer exam prep in the morning than classes afterwards personally. I would’ve preferred more free time instead of activities
