Immerse yourself in the Spanish language and culture by spending anywhere between 6 weeks and a full academic year in a Spanish secondary school. In Cadiz, we work with International House CLIC where we have found an amazing opportunity for Transition Year students to study abroad during term time that allows them to experience an entirely different way of life as well as improve their language skills.
Course duration – 4 weeks to full academic year
First two weeks…
To help settle into your new surroundings each student will spend the first two weeks attending an intensive Spanish course at CLIC Cadiz. These two weeks are necessary for students to undergo orientation and a gradual immersion into Spanish life as they adjust to a new culture, language and environment. This preparation period is also used to assess the student’s individual needs and measure their fluency before being placed in a local secondary school.
Starting at the Secondary School…
After the first two weeks, students begin attending classes in the secondary school specially selected for them. Here they attend mainstream classes such as Geography and Science alongside other Spanish students. If you feel you need further help with Spanish the course can include one-to-one lessons at the language school throughout your time at secondary school.
Love sports? This is perfect for you with lots of sports available as well as gym membership available as extra. While at the secondary school you can participate in school sports with your new friends or talk to our team and we can find what is available locally.
Surfing is available in Cadiz and lessons can be booked either locally or through Stein Study. Prices are listed in the prices tab.
If you are looking to do something different with your TY and improve your Spanish then this is perfect for you.
Flights and airport transfers aren’t included in the listed price. You can fly to Malaga or Seville, we can help recommend the perfect flight for you and organise that Clic Cadiz has a representative to pick you up on arrival bringing you directly to the host.
Home Stay is the only accommodation available and Clic Cadiz will allocate a Home Stay Family where you will stay throughout your stay in Cadiz.
