Stein Study works with established and carefully-selected language schools throughout Europe. Each language school works with a network of host families that they select and are vetted in accordance with local regulations.

It’s always good to make contact with the host to find out who you will be staying with. It also means that you have an opportunity to ask some questions about the city and the house before you arrive. Contact us on how to get in touch with your host family.

In the vast majority of cases, yes. If you are staying in a residence the linen is provided but you will need to bring a towel. Host families usually provide all linen and towels but this is a great talking point for you to double check when you call/email prior to arrival. This depends on a few factors but the earlier you book the more choice available. As with any city, the closest host families usually live in apartments with smaller rooms and larger more spacious apartments/houses are located outside the city. Contact us for more info on your accommodation.

Most host families and all language schools have WIFI available for the students. You can check with the host family when you receive their contact information.

Our system is designed to book one person at a time. If you write a note in the special requirements section on the booking page we will know to place you in with the same host family. Contact us for more information.

You can share a Host Family with your friend or friends in most of our locations. We recommend that you stay in a Host Family on your own but we understand that you may want to share with your friend(s). Please note that some of the Host Families may take up to 4 or 5 students. Any requests for changes to host family accommodation should be sent directly to the school. If there is availability then your request will be dealt with and the changes made for you. To change other types of accommodation, please contact the hostel, hotel or apartment directly.

If you would like to request host family or alternative accommodation options, including hostels, hotels and apartments, you can do so when booking your language course. Once you have confirmed which course and which dates you will be attending you will be able to select from a choice of accommodation options.

Spending money will depend on the destination city. Our recommendation is to organise a bank card prior to departure and not carry cash, also check some prepaid credit card options available. We recommend €100 per week is a good budget for all destinations but please contact us directly for more guidance on your specific course/city.

Flights are separate from the prices quoted. We don’t organise the flight for you but we will recommend which flight to book. On our group trips we will recommend a flight for all students, which the Group Leader will travel on. Get in contact if you need any further advice about flights.

We don’t apply for visas on behalf of students, however, we can supply you with all the documentation you need from your school as part of your application, including a full Letter of Acceptance and a receipt of payment of fees. The application process for a visa is different for every country, but these documents are required in most situations.

Unless specifically stated in your booking details you have been sent, or in direct instructions from the school, you do not need to reconfirm your booking before arrival. However, once you have paid the balance of fees (full fees less booking deposit) to the school at least 14 days prior to your course start date, your school will confirm this payment and reconfirm your booking details, and send you a full letter of acceptance.

If you have already booked a course and would like to change the dates or level then please contact us on info@steinstudy.com as soon as possible. Changing your course will depend on availability but we will try an accommodate any change requests.

Please check the junk or spam mail folder of your email account as sometimes booking confirmations get placed there. If you still can’t find it, please email us at info@steinstudy.com with your name and booking details (school name and date) and we’ll be happy to mail you another.

As soon as you book a course and pay a 20% deposit, you will be sent a confirmation email with all the details of the course and the language school. You will also be sent the bank details of the school, to which you will have to transfer the balance left to pay. All of the payment details will be sent in the confirmation email.

When you book with us you get instant confirmation for your course booking. In order to guarantee your place on the language course we require a 20% deposit on the course tuition price. The balance of the booking has to be paid directly to Stein Study at least 36 days before the course starts.

SteinStudy is absolutely free. We do not charge you any additional fees, and we guarantee that you will not pay more for any course than if you were to book directly with the school. So you can be sure that you are getting the best price for any course that you book.

Stein Study offers individual trips on all our courses throughout the year and a selected number of group trips during Easter and summer. The academic content is the same on both individual and group trips, however, the activities can be different on our group trips. With group trips, we have a recommended flight that the group travel out on and an organised meeting point prior to departure. Group trips are sometimes an easier transition into a new culture and allow students to make new friends in their destination city.
