The top 5 things to do in Cannes
“So what did you do during the school holidays?”
When you get asked this question by friends and family, wouldn’t it be great to tell them that you spent an exciting, fun-filled summer in the glamorous town of Cannes on the French Riviera! Well, you can make it a reality for 2020 with Stein Study’s popular Junior Summer Camp in Cannes – a study abroad programme at an established language school for students aged 13 to 17.
Cannes is a friendly, sunny Mediterranean town – a superb destination for teenagers with its beautiful sandy beaches, where young people meet up and socialise. Its pleasant and affordable cafés, and range of shops are very welcoming and offer young students the opportunity to speak French and learn the language through interacting with the local community.
Here’s a summary of the best things to do during a study abroad experience in Cannes:
1. The Promenade de la Croisette
Students will enjoy spending their free time exploring the famous Cannes promenade. It stretches for 2km along the seafront and offers an exciting atmosphere. See the famous Palais des Festivals et des Congrès – home to the Cannes Film Festival, a range of expensive shops (for window shopping) and a host of glamorous restaurants and hotels.
2. Sailing
The Mediterranean offers an ideal place to take sailing lessons. Weekly sailing lessons are available as part of the Summer Camp’s activity programme. Have fun with your new friends learning this exciting water sport in a sunny and safe environment. If sailing isn’t on your bucket list however, there are plenty of other activities available to students during their stay.
3. The Lérins Islands
Each weekend, students will be treated to a full day excursion to places of interest in and around Cannes. One such trip is a boat trip to The Lérins Islands which are just a few minutes away from Cannes. Sainte-Marguerite Island is one of the exceptional islands to visit where nature, culture and relaxation join in harmony.
4. Marineland and Aquasplash
Another popular excursion included in our study abroad course in Cannes is a visit to Marineland with dolphin shows, shark tank & penguins. And furthermore, the park is also home to an exciting water park where students can enjoy hours of fun with their friends. It is the largest waterpark in the area and has 19 water slides to choose from.
5. Casino night/Disco nights on-campus
Evenings are never dull in the glamorous town of Cannes and you can experience your own exciting nightlife on-campus, with a host of evening entertainment arranged by the language school. There is plenty of opportunities to enjoy free time in the evenings to get to know your new study abroad friends.
