An insight into studying abroad in Cadiz, Spain
An insight into studying abroad in Cadiz, Spain
We work with the best language schools across Europe to provide study abroad courses to Irish students. Having recently returned from an informative whirlwind tour of our partner schools, we want to share our insights with you as well as those from some of our 2018 students and their parents.
One destination on the list was Cadiz and our partner school – Clic International House. Cadiz is a safe and authentic Spanish town and ideal for students wanting some independence and to experience the vibrant Spanish culture. The school’s close proximity to the beach further adds to its appeal and is ideal for students wanting to combine a study abroad experience with some time in the sun.
We have received some great feedback about Cadiz and the language school from our study abroad 2018 students and their parents.
“Cádiz is a wonderful town for teenagers to visit, to learn a language in a safe and interesting environment. It was a tremendous opportunity for my daughter to mature and experience increased levels of independence”.
(Caroline, parent of student Anne Marie, 2018)
Clic International House is the leading Spanish language school in Cadiz for study abroad students and locals alike, and it’s easy to see why. The enthusiastic and excellent teachers and coordinators ensure the students are fully engaged and motivated to learn at all times. The atmosphere in the classrooms is fun and encouraging for students as they take their daily classes. But it’s not all classroom-based – the school runs an excellent extracurricular programme with the belief that a successful study abroad course incorporates a strong social and cultural aspect to it. There was plenty going on when we were there – from trips to the beach and surfing lessons to team games on campus every afternoon. Weekly excursions and free time ensure students get out and about regularly to see the town and its surrounding area.
Clara recently returned from her study abroad experience in Cadiz and had some great feedback for us about the social side of her trip and the staff:
“My favourite part of the trip was meeting new friends there and also the freedom we had to meet up was magical. Also, the organised excursions were great, mainly thanks to our coordinator on the ground in Cádiz. As I went to Cádiz on my own I was more nervous than others but from the get-go, our coordinator was so welcoming and helpful that I didn’t feel alone”.
(Student Clara, 2018)
Clara also had great things to say about the improvement in her language skills.
“I definitely feel like my language skills have improved drastically, between speaking Spanish all of the time with my house mother and the incredibly helpful and informative classes I have come out the other side of my trip with a greater knowledge of the tenses and an extensive vocabulary range”.
(Student Clara, 2018)
In Cadiz, students stay with specially selected friendly and caring host families located close to the school. The staff at the language school are committed to finding the right hosts for each student and ensure all accommodation is safe, clean and comfortable.
“Emma had a great time with Stein Study in Cadiz. The lady with whom she stayed with was great and she was really happy there”.
(Olive, parent of student Emma, 2018)
