Having fun is an important part of a Stein Study course in Germany
Learning a language is more effective when classroom time is combined with plenty of social activities and fun. This is why we ensure all our courses combine just the right amount of classroom time and free time.
Students are encouraged to converse with each other, in and out of the classroom, in the foreign language that they are learning. This applies to when they are on excursions, participating in sports/activities as well as attending social events. Social interactions during a student’s spare time, therefore, provides a great way for students to practice and perfect language skills they have been learning in class.
On all our courses, students spend mornings in the classroom and in the afternoons, there are organised activities and excursions. Here’s a summary of the activities available to students during a study abroad course in Germany at our partner school, The Humboldt Institute in Bad Schussenried or Lindenberg.
Skiing/snowboarding
During the winter months, students can opt to participate in skiing or snowboarding in the afternoons during a study abroad course in Lindenberg. This can be booked and paid for as an additional cost or there is even an exclusive German and ski course for TY students which includes skiing sessions in the afternoons following morning German lessons as well as Saturday trips to a major ski resort on Saturdays.
Sports
Both campuses have heated indoor swimming pools to enjoy all year round, as well as an impressive sports hall where students can enjoy playing basketball, indoor tennis and a range of other organised sports. Outside, students can make use of the school grounds; playing soccer, riding bikes and even swimming in the lake during the summer months.
Arts, crafts and music
There are plenty of other organised activities on offer including arts and crafts workshops and musical activities.
Social events
Students are kept busy in the evenings with a range of social get-togethers such as barbeques and discos.
Excursions
Each week students are taken on an excursion to see nearby places of interest such as the cities of Munich and Stuttgart, local castles, Lake Constance, Lindau, Island of Mainau, and even the Alps (from Lindenberg).
