A student’s review of Cádiz

Stein Study student Clara spent 2 weeks in Cádiz last summer on the TY Intensive Course improving her Spanish and soaking up the sun. We spoke with Clara to find out how she found her stay in Cádiz. Here’s what she had to say:

Do you feel that your language skills have improved as a result of your trip?

I definitely feel like my language skills have improved drastically, between speaking Spanish all of the time with my house mother and the incredible helpful and informative classes I have come out the other side of my trip with a greater knowledge of the tenses and an extensive vocabulary range.

What was the most fun element of your trip?

My favourite part of the trip was meeting new friends and the freedom we had to meet up with our friends was magical. Also the organised excursions were great, mainly to thanks to our coordinator on the ground, Nathanael. As I went to Cádiz on my own I was more nervous than some others but from the get-go Natanael was so welcoming and helpful that I didn’t feel alone.

How was your host family?

My host mother was an absolute star when I went over! She made good food and also acted as my mother there and comforted me if I was a bit down, but she also knew when to give me my own space.

What did you enjoy most about your trip?

I think what I enjoyed most about my trip was the new people and the environment in the school! All of the teachers were very helpful and up for a laugh which immediately made you eager to learn Spanish to be able to chat with them! I loved the people there as well, the group I came with were so inclusive and through the activities we really became so close.

Would you recommend a Stein Study study abroad course to a friend?

I would definitely (and already have) recommend Stein to a friend!

Would you consider attending another Stein Study course?

If it is plausible next summer I will definitely be returning back to Cádiz!

Any final comments?

I had the most amazing stay in Cádiz and could not be happier with everything that I experienced while I was there!
