A parent’s guide to Loches
Are you a parent thinking of sending your child for a study abroad experience in 2019? If you are looking for a French destination for your child to study French in France and improve their French language skills, then consider sending them to Loches – an idyllic small town in rural France where we send Irish students to study at a top French boarding school.
The School: Saint Denis International School
This beautiful boarding school in Loches welcomes 80 international students to join their 880 local students. Students stay in boarding rooms during the week at the school and with a host family at weekends or during short holidays. Students share a room with 2 to 3 French students during their time at the school to encourage French language interaction.
The school is well equipped with plenty of facilities for students to enjoy sports and other activities during their spare time. The school is surrounded by rich countryside, streams and forests with cycle paths and trails. It really is an idyllic and safe school to send your teenager.
The course: French Boarding School Programme
The course in Loches is unique because students only study French throughout their stay in a fully French environment. Students attend 40 lessons a week which include small interactive sessions and when they are ready they can integrate into mainstream French subject classes to learn other subjects such as science. Students learn at their own pace and each student is treated individually to tailor their classes and integration as necessary.
Students can take this course for 2 weeks up to 10 months.
