It’s easy to see why Seville is one of our most popular Spanish destinations, with its sunny weather and siesta culture! Choosing to study abroad in Seville gives students a typical Spanish experience in an energetic and cosmopolitan Spanish city.

Seville is the capital city of the Andalusian region of Spain and well known for its beautiful and elegant architecture with one of the best-preserved old town centres in the world. The city offers a variety of leisure activities and cultural experiences; from the Isla Mágica Amusement Park to Flamenco dancing street performers.

Here’s our pick of the top 5 things for students to do in Seville:

  • Seville Old Town

Seville has one of the best-preserved Old Towns in the world – Santa Cruz.   See the beautiful palaces in Spanish and Moorish style alongside houses painted in vibrant Spanish colours. Don’t miss the Cathedral with the Giralda, tower, and the Reales Alcázares and gardens. You will get plenty of time to visit the old town during your spare time in the afternoons or at weekends.

  • Isla Magica Amusement Park

Your course includes a number of fun weekend excursions including a trip to this popular theme and water amusement park. The park has a range of fun and thrilling rides and it is always a popular excursion amongst students of all ages.

  • Flamenco dancing street performers

During your free time, visit the city at night and see the many Flamenco dancers that perform in the illuminated city streets.  Go with friends or with your host family. Either way, Seville is a safe city to explore at night.

  • Tarifa-Baelo Claudia

Another exciting excursion included in your course is a day trip to the Roman city of

Baelo Claudia in Tarifa. You’ll get to see the archaeological Roman remains and learn about this 2,000 year old ancient city.

  • A rich and varied sports and cultural programme

The language school – CLIC, runs a busy social and cultural programme for students to enjoy in their spare time including visits to museums, guided walks, cooking, painting, movies and sports.

Don’t miss out! Study abroad in Seville during your transition year to improve your Spanish language skills and to experience the Spanish culture in one of the most culture-rich, vibrant cities in Spain.
