Why a Secondary School in France Programme is a great TY option for your child

Are you looking for a study abroad experience for your child during their TY but can’t find the right course? If French is one of their subjects then consider sending them to France to spend some of their transition year abroad at a French Secondary School. It is a great way for students to experience life in a foreign country, to improve their French language skills and to meet new people. Our programmes are specially formulated for Irish students who can spend 4 weeks to 10 months at a French Secondary School in one of our fantastic destinations – La Rochelle, Loches or Rouen.

1. Students will learn the language quicker

Students who study French in France amongst French students, will pick up the language far quicker than those studying the language back home in a classroom in Ireland. Listening to the language being spoken during school and even at home (with homestay option) will greatly improve language comprehension and introduce students to a much wider vocabulary.

Spending time in a foreign country and amongst a different culture offers students an exciting and rewarding experience that will broaden their perspective of the world. The TY is a great time for students to start experiencing the world in preparation for when they leave school in a few years time.
