Arriving at a school in a foreign country can be daunting for students, so we make sure our partner schools are fully prepped and ready to help our students on arrival and throughout their whole stay. In La Rochelle, the resident team at our partner school – Inlingua,  are there to help students settle into their accommodation, to help with any issues that arise, to organise and manage activities and excursions, to help with getting around the town, deal with any course queries and above all, make sure that students enjoy themselves!

La Rochelle is one of our most popular destinations (with 5 great courses to choose from) and we are lucky to have a great Team Leader/Supervisor on the ground who is ready and willing to help our students whenever needed.

Meet Tom

Tom is our resident English speaker in La Rochelle and oversees the TY and LC programmes at the school. He is there to make sure that the students really get the best from their experience in France. He organises students into their host families and makes sure everyone knows where they will be staying when they arrive.

During the course, Tom will take care of planning the activities and excursions, and is always nearby and ready to help should anyone wish to know more about the town and how to get around. On the first day, he will take all the students over the ground rules and make sure that everyone knows what to expect/what is expected of them during the course. He oversees the team of Group Leaders who will be taking the students on their activities and looking after them during the evening activities.

Tom is never far away when needed and is the first person to go and see should a student have any problem. He is in contact with Stein Study every day during the course. He will be sending the students all the information about the school in the months running up to their stay – students can get in touch with him before they depart if they have questions about how to prepare for their course.

Furthermore, we’ve had some great feedback about Tom and the team on the ground in La Rochelle:

Ally had a hugely rewarding experience in Le Rochelle…her host family were super as were Tom and all the supervisors. She has a very good level of French and her class was appropriate to her level. Thanks so much to all at Stein

Ella had a ball, loved meeting everyone In the group. Her teacher was lovely and she really feels much more confident with her French.

I wanted to let you know how happy we were with John’s trip to Rochelle. Thank you, it was more than we had expected. He really had an amazing fun time and I don’t think he realised how much French he was learning. Tom was wonderful on the ground and made everything interesting for them.
